Speculative Design Seoul (SDS)은 국내에 스페큘레이티브 디자인 개념을 알리기 위해 Celine Park의 디자인 철학을 

중심으로 형성된 그룹이다. 스페큘레이티브 디자인은 2000년대 초 런던 영국왕립예술대학에서 Dunne&Raby를 통해 처음 언급된 

뒤로 전 세계의 주목을 받아왔다.  아직 한국에선 낯선  이 개념은 MoMA, 런던 디자인 뮤지엄, 뉴욕타임스, CNN 등의 꾸준한 

언급을 통해 그 중요성을 실감할 수 있다. 이 개념은 미래적 시나리오를 제시하여 현재에 일어나는 사회적 이슈를 비판적 관점에서 

바라보고, 새로운 시선으로 토론하도록 화두를 던지는 신 디자인 개념이다. 

앞으로 디자인 개념은 더욱 확장될 것이다. 이러한 사회에서 스페큘레이티브 디자인을 통해 우리는 

새로운 테크놀로지, 개념, 인문학, 철학을 경험할 수 있다.

이번 전시는 국내 최초 스페큘레이티브 디자이너 Céline Park과 채우리 연구원의 주도하에 이루어진 

SDS의 4가지 스페큘레이티브 프로젝트를 최초로 공개한다.

Speculative Design Seoul (SDS) is a group formed under Celine Park's design philosophy 

to educate the concept of speculative design in Korea. Speculative design has attracted worldwide attention

 since it was first mentioned through Dunne & Raby at the Royal College of Arts in London in the early 2000s. 

 The concept, which is still unfamiliar in Korea, can be recognized through constant references by MoMA, 

the London Design Museum, the New York Times, CNN and etc. The term is a new design concept that presents

 a future scenario, giving a critical view of the social issues that arise in the present, and raising topics to discuss 

with a new perspective. 

The concepts of design will be further expanded in the future. Therefore, we can experience new technologies, 

concepts, humanities, and philosophy through speculative design.

The exhibition will unveil four speculative design projects of SDS for the first time, which were led 

by Designer, Céline Park and Researcher, Woori Chae.
